About

Formed in 2009 as an affiliate of the St. Louis and Kansas City Equity Funds, Gateway was certified by the U.S. Department of the Treasury in 2011 as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).  Its primary purpose is to promote community, social and economic development by the provision of loan products, development and technical services, and organizational development guidance to entities engaged in the provision of affordable housing and community development.

Gateway staff includes Chair and President, John F. Kennedy, and Community Development Lender, Jaycee Greene.  In addition, Erica Dobreff, John Wuest, Joe Cavato and Mr. Jerry Burka serve as professional consultants to the organization. John, Jaycee and the consultants serving Gateway clients offer a wealth of experience in the lending, consulting and affordable housing industries.

Gateway has an established portfolio of loans outstanding for pre-development financing and first mortgages for the purpose of developing and maintaining affordable housing.  In addition, Gateway staff and consultants have provided technical assistance, consulting services, and professional training for a wide array of clients.

We thank Gateway CDFI for collaborating with us on the Lemay Development Corp. urban planning project. Gateway was knowledgeable, professional, and engaging.
